Cigarette Container Fire at Debra Drive

On Sunday August 9th 2020, Potsdam Fire was dispatched to Lawrence Avenue Apartments after a caller reported she could smell plastic burning and thought she could possibly see a cigarette butt container smoking. Engine 49 responded chauffeured by Career Driver Maroney. At 1440 hours, Engine 49 arrived on scene, and was directed by a bystander between Building B and C where a cigarette receptacle was found to be smoking. Firefighters used a wet can off of Engine 49 to extinguish the fire. Potsdam Fire was in service at 1507 hours.
