One Vehicle Roll Over on County Route 59

On July 21st, 2023 at 1913 hours, Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 10 were dispatched to the vicinity of 653 County Route 59 for a reported one car motor vehicle accident with possible serious injuries. At the time of alarm, Engine 49 chauffeured by Paid Driver Mark Maroney responded. Potsdam Fire Assistant Chief Bradish (36-2) responded at the time as well. Engine 49 arrived on scene at 1916 hours to find a Ford Ranger that was flipped over in the swampy area off the side of the roadway.

On arrival, it was found that both occupants were outside of the vehicle. Potsdam Rescue had requested air medical while enroute which was stood down by 36-2. Potsdam Fire provided traffic control, keeping one lane of travel open. Both occupants of the vehicle were transported by Potsdam Rescue to Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Firefighters were able to mitigate the fuel from leaking with diaper absorbent pads. The scene was investigated by the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Department. The vehicle was towed away by Johnson's Towing.

Potsdam Fire was in service at 2000 hours.
