Tanker and Manpower to West Potsdam

On Thursday, June 13th at 2126 hours, West Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 10 were dispatched to 1078 County Route 35 for a reported fully engulfed house fire. Potsdam Fire was dispatched automatic for a tanker to respond along with manpower to the scene. Canton Fire were also requested mutual aid for engine, tanker, and manpower. At 2132 hours, Tanker 100 (S. Corbett) responded followed by Rescue 14 (M. Keleher) and Rescue 30 (C. Corbett) and arrived on scene at 2140 hours. Additionally, Hannawa Falls Fire was requested to respond for draft on the French Road and engine and manpower to the scene.

Firefighters on scene used SCBA to make entry to the house as there was smoke but with no flames visible. Firefighters used thermal imaging cameras to find the area of where the fire originated but it appeared it had "snuffed" itself out. A positive pressure fan was used on scene to ventilate the structure. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the St. Lawrence County Fire Investigation Team. Potsdam Rescue provided standby during the fire. Potsdam Fire was in service at 2239 hours.
