On Monday, December 13th 2021, at 1626 hours, Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 10 were dispatched to a two car motor vehicle accident with entrapment at 7375 US Highway 11 infront of Steve's RV Center. At 1627 hours, Rescue 14 (Ju. McGregor) responded and arrived on scene at 1630 hours, followed by Engine 80 (J. Keleher). Assistant Chief Dan McGregor became Command of the incident. Command requested that US Highway 11 be shut down at the intersection of US Highway 11 and Morley Potsdam Road. Rescue 30 (S. Davis) responded there and performed traffic control. Command requested West Potsdam Fire to respond to the intersection of Dayton Road and US Highway 11 to perform traffic control.

On scene, firefighters found one vehicle on its side, the operator had self extricated, and had minor injuries. The operator of the other vehicle was still pinned inside. Firefighters used the jaws of life off of R-14 to extricate the victim out of the vehicle. Rescue 14 also supplied scene lighting. Canton Rescue was requested to the scene for one ambulance. Both operators were transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital by Potsdam Rescue and Canton Rescue. The scene was investigated by the New York State Police and is still under investigation. Johnson's Towing removed both vehicles from scene. Potsdam Fire was in service at 1806 hours.
