At 7:36pm, Canton Fire, Canton Rescue, and County Car 4 were dispatched to a bedroom filling with smoke within a large residence on the Cowan Rd. Upon arrival, 4-2 advised nothing showing but upon entry, confirmed heavy smoke from the second floor rear bedroom. A first alarm, including a tanker task force, was initiated resulting in Potsdam Fire being requested with tanker, engine, and manpower to the scene. TA-100 aided water supply on scene. E-80 setup draft at Tracy Brook, and R-14 brought a crew to the scene for overhaul. The fire was limited to the bedroom and quickly knocked down. No firefighter or civilian injuries were reported. Potsdam Fire was back in service at 9:33pm.
